Along the river, migration was evident. There were quite a few LAZULI BUNTINGS with one or two BLUE GROSBEAKS and an INDIGO BUNTING. Other migrants included OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER, HOUSE WREN and NASHVILLE WARBLER. Other birds included GRAY HAWK, SONG, LINCOLN’S and CHIPPING SPARROW, ABERT’S and GREEN-TAILED TOWHEES, SUMMER and WESTERN TANAGER. [...]

Highlights at San Pedro House included a TROPICAL KINGBIRD by Kingfisher Pond, with Western and Cassin’s present for direct comparison, decent views of a YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO, 5 COMMON GROUND-DOVES, GRAY HAWKS, singing BOTTERI’S SPARROW, HOODED ORIOLE, stunning BLUE GROSBEAKS and a pair of INDIGO BUNTINGS by the river, the male in song. [...] I was joined by Susan, Jenise, Flory and Ed for June’s Fun Birding Workshop at San Pedro House near Sierra Vista. It was hot but we lasted well.
